Newly appointed Mangaung city manager thrown out of office in brawl footage

Tensions are extremely high at the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, as the morning shift brawl took the limelight at the City’s head office, where Mangaung’s newly appointed city manager Mzingisi Nkungwana clashed with head of ‘non-existent’ Mangaung Metro Police.

In a video that went viral on social media, Nkungwana can be seen thrown out of the office by the dissolved Mangaung Metro Police officials, spearheaded by Israel ‘Izy’ Kgamanyane, while others are packing his belongings.

In a footage, Nkungwana can be heard claiming that he is not desperate to be the city’s manager and he is ready to relinquish the managerial chain.

“I don’t want to be the city’s manager Nna (Me). Mokebe help me to get out of here,” says Nkungwana.

Kasi Voice News has learned that Mangaung mayor Mxolisi Siyonzana and Nkungwana don’t see eye to eye, where the mayor has previously written a letter to the newly city manager to return all the properties of the metro and that he cease executing his powers as the city manager.

This is after Siyonzana dragged the metro’s executive council to court this week.

In the letter directed to Nkumwana, Siyonzana states that “you are called upon to return all assets belonging to the municipality that was given to you when you occupied your position as the director of corporate services and the Acting City Manager.  

“You are further called upon to desist from holding yourself out as the ACM and attempting to render any services in an attempt to perform the responsibilities of the office of the ACM,” read a letter.

Both Siyonzana and Nkungwana were deployed by warring factions of the Africa National Congress (ANC) in Mangaung.

This brawl comes just after the national government announced that it will be taking over the running and operations of the metro after it was placed under administration.
