Murder suspect busted after intense manhunt launch

The most-wanted murder suspect will now face the might of the law after he was arrested by the Hertzogville police, Lejweleputswa police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng said.

It is alleged that last week, on the 19 May at about 15:10, one of the warrant officers informed SAPS members of Hertzogville about a wanted murder suspect travelling in their vicinity.

The police officer described the vehicle the alleged suspect was driving, with Lesotho registration number plates.

“The police responded instantly, as they noticed a vehicle matching the description was spotted travelling from Christiana to Hertzogville,” Thakeng said.

“The vehicle was stopped and the driver matched with the photo given by the investigator of Vierfontein.

“A 36 year old man was wanted for murder case that occurred at Vierfontein,” he added.

The suspect wass also issued with a fine for driving without a driver’s license.

The suspect will appear soon in Vierfontein Magistrate Court.

The district commissioner of Lejweleputswa, General Lerato Molale applauded Hertzogville police officers for their immediate response to follow up the information which led to the arrest of a wanted murder suspect.
