The Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, will deliver a pronounce on the financial situation of Road Accident Fund (RAF) on Friday, 04 March.
Alongside Road Accident Fund (RAF) CEO and non-executive boards members, Mbalula will also announce interventions made to stabilize the entity.
The RAF board and management have had the responsibility of ensuring that the entity upholds its mandate of providing relief to accident victims on South African roads.
RAF will also provide feedback on the progress made since the implementation of its turn-around strategy and new operating model.
For the past three years, the entity has battled with serious monetary problems in spite of their entire levy income usage. The levy income is approximately R3 billion to make over 30 000 payments to those who claim.
RAF still has an outstanding debt of R8,2 billion to 5 200 creditors.
