The Bloemfontein High Court has sentenced the 24-year-old, Katleho Moeketsi to 25 years in jail for gruesome murder of a 64-year-old woman.
He was also found guilty for robbery with aggravated circumstanced, and the High Court added 15 years on top of his life sentence.
In August 2021, the accused brutally murdered a 64-year-old Louisa Potgieter and left the corpse in pool of blood.
“On Wednesday 25 August 2021, the police at Dewetsdorp police station were alerted about a body laying in an open veld near Morojaneng township by children, “says Mangaung police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Covane.
“The patrol vehicle attended and on arrival at the scene, they discovered the body of an Elderly woman covered in blood.
The accused was arrested after, he was spotted driving with a victim’s Volkswagen Golf with his girlfriend and a friend.
