The Botshabelo Tactical Response Team arrested a 30-year-old sangoma after receiving intel about an African male in possession of an unlicensed firearm on Tuesday afternoon, 15 February 2022.
Information received led members to the suspect’s house at R-Section, Botshabelo.
Upon arrival, the team searched the premises and found a revolver with 13 loose live rounds. The suspect could not provide documentation and license for possessing the firearm.
Police then arrested the 30-year-old Lesotho national for possession of unlicensed firearm. He will soon appear before Botshabelo Magistrate Court.
The firearm will be sent for tests, to check if it was not used to commit crime.
