Winburg rapist was sentenced to 18-years in jail for raping a girl who was only 11-year-old at the time of the incident.
According to Lejweleputswa spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, Sefako Benedict Kula raped a child in late 2017.
“It was reported that day, the 11-year-old girl was on her way home when the accused followed her, grabbed her by clothes and dragged her to an open field. He undressed her and raped her,” said Thakeng.
Thakeng further said that, the victim saved herself by hitting the accused with the stone on his head, that made him to be a little bit dizzy.
“The victim managed to push him and ran home to report what happened,” added Thakeng.
A rape docket was opened at Winburg Police Station and the accused was found guilty at the Bultfontein Regional Court.
On Friday, June 17, the accused was sentenced to 18-years imprisonment.
