On Saturday, 11 September 2021, farm residences in Welkom were reached out to and empowered on GBV and domestic violence.
Welkom SAPS members reached out to the following farm residences: Klein Koppie Alleen, Nooitgedagte, Rhino Rest, Uitkyk and Esparanza.
The farm workers and recidents were familiarized with Gender Based Violence; domestic violence; and crime hints regarding safety. Parents were also encouraged not to neglect, but take care of their children.
The visit to these rural communities was a result of a six-year-old child found neglected by her mother. The mother left the child alone and went to Thabong with her boyfriend.

Rural Safety Coordinator Warrant Officer Jeremia Moreki and Sector 2 Manager Sergeant Motshidisi Mochudi.
