Passionate about empowering young people and creating opportunities for local talent, Mrs South Africa 2024 semi-finalist Keitumetse Mehlape is bringing the Lejweleputswa Talent Show to life.
Mehlape, the founder and director of the Lebilo Foundation and the Tswelopele Talent Show in Hoopstad, Free State says the event is about more than just entertainment, it is a platform to help young people showcase their gifts, build confidence, and stay away from harmful social activities.
“There is a scarcity of youth-oriented programmes in our region, and this has unfortunately left many young people vulnerable to social ills,” Mehlape explains. “We have incredibly talented artists in our community, but without platforms to showcase their skills, they struggle to succeed. This show is about changing that.”
The talent show is open to performers from across the Lejweleputswa District, including Nala, Tokologo, and beyond. All types of acts are welcome, from singing, dancing, and acting to magic tricks, poetry, and other unique talents.

Registration is open until 3 October 2025, but spaces are limited. Those interested are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. Exciting prizes are up for grabs for the most outstanding performers.
The event builds on the success of the Tswelopele Municipality Talent Show, which drew enthusiastic participation from various parts of the district. Mehlape hopes to make the Lejweleputswa Talent Show an annual event that inspires and uplifts the community’s youth.
In addition to inviting talented youth to participate, Mehlape is appealing for sponsorships and donations to ensure the event’s success.
“We would be grateful for any form of support from businesses, organisations, or individuals who believe in investing in our youth,” she says.
