Lejweleputswa District Municipality mayor, Sebenzile Ngangelizwe, plants trees on National Arbor Week

The mayor of Lejweleputswa District Municipality, Councillor Sebenzile Ngangelizwe, along with the mayoral committee members to celebrate the National Arbor Week.

In his speech, Ngangelizwe highlited the importance of trees and their contribution to oxygen, and urged the Welkom (Dagbreek) community to join him in planting many trees and preserve what nature brings for future generations.

The executive mayor and his committee councillor, Lucky Tlhone, were thanked for bringing such an innovative programme to the ward.

The Executive Mayor was also praised for future projects that he will outline with the Executive Committee in the upcoming months on what plans the District Municipality has in bettering the lives of its people.

The plans will also enhance the National Development Plan (NDP) that the government has undertaken to improve the people and growing the inclusive economy building capabilities throughout the society.

At end, Ngangelizwe thanked all the departments that were involved in celebrating the National Arbor Week, the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Department of Public Works with its programme (EPWP).
