Presidential Imbizo is taking centre stage in Mangaung, where cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, MECs and the Premier have gathered at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium to join President Cyril Ramaphosa, as he interacts with the communities.
Government has intensified this campaign to hear deepening issues facing communities in the Free State province.
In their walkabout in the area of Mangaung, President Ramaphosa together with his cabinet ministers and deputy ministers were led by Premier Sisi Ntombela who took through government officials in the state-of-art, Motheo TVET College.
Coupled with its state-of-art features, the TVET college is solely a well structured centre of learning in the Free State province.
The Incubation program is fully functional and intents to facilitate growth and development of SMME’s and start-up businesses.
Singing songs of praise, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said the college is one of the most renowned institution of high-calibre and a cornerstone of intellectual growth.
‘When we visited Motheo we were very impressed and we said the African National Congress (ANC) started here in Mangaung, the skills revolution started here, we said that we must have these Motheo TVET Colleges across the country,” said Dlamini-Zuma.
Motheo TVET College is one of the four public TVET Colleges in the Free State, serving the Motheo and Xhariep Districts. The College comprised of three campuses, a Central office and three satellites.
Central office and Bloemfontein campus are situated in the Bloemfontein Central Business District, Mangaung Metro within the Motheo district.
Bloemfontein campus focus mainly in the training of Business Studies NC(V)- and Report 191 programmes. Training of disabled students (deaf, blind and physically impaired) are catered for at this campus.
Hillside View campus serving Bloemanda Township which is 8 km from the Central office. The campus is more inclined towards engineering programmes both NC(V) and Report 191.
Thaba’Nchu campus is in the semi-rural area of Thaba’Nchu, which is approximately 70 km from Bloemfontein CBD. This campus has a programme mix of both Engineering and Business studies.

Acknowledging deep constraints facing the community of Free State, Dlamini-Zuma said the province is rich but has poor people.
“We will do our best as government as whole to support and strengthen local government through legislative,” she said.
