Action-packed soccer tournament in Matjhabeng – not to be missed!

Dubbed the Sgangeni Easter tournament, Matjhabeng Masters League will hold its eleventh annual soccer tournament this Easter break.

Everyone is eagerly looking forward to Easter, especially with the upcoming Sgangeni Easter Tournament just around the corner. The event is set to kick off at Thabong’s Sgangeni Sports Ground tomorrow, March 29, 2024.

All teams from the Matjhabeng Masters League will compete in this competition, which has been going on for the past decade, and this year will mark the eleventh year since its inception.

Originally, there were only eight teams in the tournament when it began in 2013, but now there are over 16 teams, with some teams being eliminated because there are too many entries.

“The goals were to strengthen our local community, lower crime rates, and foster young soccer players. You can verify that there has been less crime in Themba, Thelerini, Mshengoville, Putswastene, and Bronville since I established the Matjhabeng Masters League. Y

You can confirm with our Police stations that crime has decreased from 72% to 22%, that is why you find people like gangsters walking freely in all areas of Matjhabeng without any fight like before,” said Pule Maile, Matjhabeng Masters League President.

“In sports, we battle against drugs. As we grow our youth, we are also involved in Wafa Wafa,” added Maile.

The event will come to an end on April 1st with the final.
