It’s a good news for Mzansi as the people’s favourite South African Music Awards (SAMA) returns for the 28th season in Sun City, North West, next month.
The award ceremony took an initiative to celebrate live this year, after having virtual concerts for two years due to hard lockdown restrictions.
The event host shared a poster on their official twitter account to confirm that a mother-of-all even will air on SABC1 at 8pm on 28 August.
The nominees have already been announced by SAMA’s Instagram page.
Zakes Bantwini and Sun-El Musician has led the SAMA28 with three nominees each.
Zakes Bantwini’s Ghetto King has been nominated for categories of Male Artist of the Year, Best Dance Album and Album of the Year.
Sun-El Musician is nominated for his album African Electronic Dance for categories that are similar to the one of Zakes Bantwini.
Khanyisile Mthethwa has been announced two times, for Best Female Artist of the Year and Newcomer of the year.
Amaroto(Reece Madlisa and Zuma) also got nominated twice for their album Ama Roto vol.2, for Duo/Group of the Year and Best Kwaito album.
