Minister Kubayi engage with stakeholders to assess housing projects in Free State

Human Settlement minister Mmamoloko Kubayi intensified a pre-Presidential engagements in Free State to assess service delivery related projects.

Engagements took centre stage between the ministry of Human Settlements, Free State Human Settlements Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality to assess the level of progress since the Minister’s visit in Mangaung, October 2021.

Deputy Minister for department of HS- Pam Tshwete, MEC for Coperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and Human Settlements in the province Mxolisi Dukwana and Mayors were in discussions with the ministry, to unpack the housing for destitute cases which amounts to 40% & 10% set-aside for women and youth, as well as housing for military veterans.

As part of the District Development Model (DDM) Presidential Imbizo to the Free State Province, Kubayi and deputy minister Pam Tshwete, convened two engagements with the stakeholder representatives.

The engagements also unpacked amongst others, assess performance, the allocation and utilisation of the Urban Settlements Development Grant (USDG) and Human Settlements Development Grant (HSDG), in a quest by government to restore the dignity of the people through the rapid provision of sustainable human settlements.
