Straight outta Nyakallong, Allanridge, deep in the dusty streets of the Free State, comes a man with hustle in his veins and community in his heart. We’re talking about none other than Lehlohonolo Wilfred Koena – founder, director, and full-blown kasi game-changer behind Koena L and L Pty Ltd. This ain’t just a business, fam. This is a movement.
From growing food to connecting people online, from producing mouthwatering biltong to building agri-infrastructure, Koena is not here to play. He’s here to build an empire, one brick, one packet of biltong, and one WiFi connection at a time.
Koena origionally born in Welkom, his story kicked off in Nyakallong, Allanridge. That’s where the real magic began. He grew up surrounded by fields, community spirit, and hard-working hands. “That’s where I learned resilience, creativity, and service,” he says. And honestly? You can see all those values running through every project he touches.
Why stick to one lane when you can drive the whole freeway?
Koena L and L Pty Ltd operates across multiple industries:
- Biltong production – bringing that flava from the Free State to your tastebuds.
- Seedlings nursery – empowering communities to grow their own food.
- Agricultural construction – helping farmers build sustainable structures.
- Internet café – making sure the hood stays connected and educated.
“My vision is to create a network of impact,” says Koena. “Everything we do uplifts, connects, and empowers.” Now that’s purpose-driven hustle.
What makes Koena stand out? It’s his holistic approach. He’s not just chasing cash – he’s chasing change. “Every branch of my business solves a problem,” he says. “I mix old-school skills with new-school thinking.” One day he’s marinating biltong, the next he’s setting up computers for school kids, and the next he’s out on the field building a tunnel for farmers. That’s hands-on leadership, kasi style.
What made him fall in love with business? “It’s the joy of seeing growth – in the soil and in people.” Koena’s journey started with a small farming project and a dream. Then came that first packet of biltong sold – and the rest is kasi power history.
Koena’s kitchen is a laboratory of flavor. He’s constantly experimenting with spices and marinades to bring Mzansi’s heritage to life in every bite. His biltong isn’t just food – it’s a story, a memory, and a vibe.
