The late and former Rhythm City star, Jamie Bartlett, popularly known for his iconic character ‘David Genaro’, will be laid to his final place of rest next week, Wednesday, 1 June.
According to the family, Jamie passed away from his sleep on Monday evening, the autopsy has confirmed that it was cardiac arrest.
He was 55 years of age.
The Theatre Thespian will be buried in his home in Cape Town on the private funeral, whereby only family and close friends will attend.
However, his memorial service of will take place on Monday, 6 June, and will be opened to the public.
Jamie’s management have issued a statement on Instagram surrounding details of his memorial and funeral arrangements.
“The funeral remains a private affair to the family (and)close friends and associates in Cape Town on Wednesday, 1 June,” statement read.
“On the other hand his larger than life and memorial service will be held on Monday, 6 June, from 16:00 to 20:00 at Zone 6 venue.
“It will be opened to the public to the public as Jamie Bartlett was for the people and the people loved him and appreciated him and his artistry.
“The family would like to thank you all for the words of encouragement, thoughts, prayers, flowers, presence and the love you showed and showered Jamie with throughout his life and career,” the statement concluded.
Jamie will forever be remembered by stars and fans for his iconic acting skills.
