Gospel singer, motivational speaker and a minister of the Word of God, Palesa Ngwenya is now a TV Presenter.
She was appointed as a TV Presenter for a show called Hello Mamoruti which premiered on TV last month.
The 43-year-old hails from Jouberton, Klerksdorp in the North-West province.
Palesa is known for blessing us with her beautiful gospel music but lately she has braced our screens with her newly found passion.
TV presenter became a guest on a TV Show when this presenting opportunity came knocking at her door and she gave a resounding yes.
“I was a guest being interviewed on a TV show. The producers of the show expressed that they loved me on the show, how I came across and suggested I needed to get a show of my own and we should work on it. I thought it was a joke and didn’t take it too seriously until they contacted us for a meeting not long after and as they say, the rest is history,” said Palesa.
Women in ministry, especially Pastor’s Wives, with their varied and unique journeys, are featured in Hello Mamoruti’s show.
Palesa reiterated that often, we hear a lot from male ministers and very little from women especially women married to pastors.
Not many people can easily answer the question, “What is the role and contribution of pastor’s wives in the church”.
She further added that the show aims to answer this question and much more.
The heart of the show is to let people into the Pastor’s Wives’ lives, their journeys, experiences, challenges and victories – stories that are usually not told.
Pastor’s wives are often seen but not heard and their immense contribution to churches is not well understood, said Palesa.
Palesa has a unique perspective on the show. “As a pastor’s wife myself for at least 18 years, I can often relate to the journeys of the guests on the show.
Many of their stories are close to home for me and to a large extend to many of the pastor’s wives, I have had the opportunity to cross paths with, in the ministry,” she said.
According to Palesa although Pastor’s wives often play a critical role in churches, there are a lot of misconceptions about them, Pastors’ wives are often overlooked and often have an unrecognized role.
Additionally, some people believe they just dress nice and have a pretty appearance when they are paired with their husbands.
In addition to being gifted and competent, many Pastors’ wives have their own careers and make enormous contributions to society as a whole.
She added that on Hello Mamoruti we get to be inspired by Pastor’s wives’ true identity and true stories they generously share.
Palesa assured us that this is not an end of her singing career and that she’s good at multitasking.
“I have always done various things in my life and passionate about exploring all my God-given talents.
Adding to the music, and as a speaker and minister of the gospel, my goal remains to use any platform I can as an opportunity to fulfil the purpose of my assignment and for impacting other people’s lives and making a difference,” said the melodious singer.
Palesa’s message to Pastor’s Wives is for them to resist the constant pressure to perform and to meet other people’s unattainable expectations by being themselves and doing what God has created them to do.
Viewers can stay in touch by following them on various social media platforms.
