Eskom has announced that it will escalate load shedding to stage four due to the ongoing unprotected labour action.
The power utility earlier warned that, it will consider rolling blackouts to a higher stage following the ongoing protests at some of its power stations.
In a released statement, Eskom announced that it will implement stage four with immediate effect from 11am this morning.
Disgruntled employees at the power utility, are demanding an increase.
Eskom said roads have been blockaded, and employees who continue to work are being intimidated.
