Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, has warned that history might repeat itself to instigate a widespread national shutdown to call for the President to hand down the baton.
It was in 2017, where the red beret joint by other opposition parties and the civil rights organisations called for then President Jacob Zuma to resign following the Constitutional Court’s ruling that he has broken his oath of his office.
Today during the party’s press briefing, EFF’s Commander-in-Chief addressed that the party is yet again organising to mobilise its ground forces to take the battle to the streets to call for the immediate removal of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Although he hasn’t anticipated when this will likely happen, Malema urged South Africans to join a national shutdown that the party will be spearheading.
Ramaphosa has came under fire for his alleged Phala-Phala farm gate saga, where million dollars were discovered in the President’s farm.
“We reiterate our call for President Ramaphosa to step down as the president of South Africa.
“Cautioning that he must not test our patience because we have been patient for far too long,” addressed Malema.
While looking at other matters at hand, Malema said in the effort of restoring electricity the country, government must liaise its BRICS partners, China and Russia.
“We are going to closely work with China and Russia because they’ve shown thus far that they have superior energy alternatives,” said Malema.
Malema criticized the United Kingdom (UK) parliament for trying to come up with solutions to electricity problems in the country.
He further said that the country is not a UK colony and it is working with Ramaphosa.
Malema was also concerned about high crime rates and unsolved cases of 21 murdered children at Enyobeni tarven and 15 mass shooting in Soweto tarven.
“Police are not acting, they are also turning blind eye on massive acts of money laundering, violation of South African currency as well as illegal law enforcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa and his gangsters,” added Malema.
EFF said they wrote to the speaker of parliament for President Ramaphosa to account on where the money comes from but they never got the response.
They want the court to order South African Reserve Bank and South African Revenue Services (SARS) to investigate millions of dollars found in Phala-Phala farm.
