Celebrities flooded Twitter streets with messages of condolences, while others paid their tributes to the late actor, Jamie Bartlett, better known for his popular name, David Genaro, in the now-dissolved populous drama series, Rhythm City.
The multi-award winning TV and theatre actor died at the age of 55 on Monday evening.
Jamie was also known for being a judge on South African reality show known as SA’s Got Talent.
He made a lot of television appearances, the other one that he will be remembered for is playing Mike O’Reilly on SABC3’s Isidingo.
The star also played on the film Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.
He was married to Camilla Waldman and they had a son together, but later they divorced.
The awards that he bagged includes Safta, Fleur Du Cap and Vita awards.
Celebrities and politicians such as Terry Pheto, Sello Maake kaNcube and Mmusi Maimane have sent their condolences to Jamie’s family, while others honoured the veteran actor for his resilient work and for being the notable actor in the industry.
