Final hand over of the last batch of the State Capture report is plagued with setbacks yet again, this comes after Office of Presidency announced that, there are new amendments to the dates of the handover.
Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, was supposed to hand over the fifth report last week on Wednesday, June 15, but due to high court order it was delayed.
Today, President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, took it to Twitter that a new date and time will be communicated soon for Zondo’s final report handover to President Ramaphosa.
“This morning, President Ramaphosa and the Chief Justice discussed the timing of the handing over of the final Commission report. A new date and time for the handover will be announced soon,” said Magwenya.
The final report was set to be released today at 18:00.This is supposed to be the fifth report handed to the Presidency. The other four reports are still with the Presidency are not yet with National Prosecuting Authority(NPA).
South Africans has seen many cases and companies being investigated in the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture, mostly known as the Zondo Commission.
The commission has unearthed deeply worrying cases that led to the collapse of state owned entities such as the South African Airways (SAA), Eskom, Transnet and SA Revenue Services.
This last State Capture is set to cover many aspects that are inclusive of SA Broadcasting Corporation, the State Security Vrede dairy farm, to just mention a few.
