On Wednesday, 06 October 2021, ActionSA will brief the media on their court application against the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for its omission of ActionSA’s name from ballot papers in the coming elections.
Despite all efforts from ActionSA to timeously intervene and provide the institution with an opportunity to resolve the issue, IEC refuses to remedy the matter.
At tomorrow’s briefing, ActionSA will set out their case against the IEC. They will address the IEC’s failure to act in good faith, and also failure to fulfil its Constitutional duty as stipulated in Chapter 9.
Tomorrow, ActionSA President, Herman Mashaba; National Chairperson, Michael Beaumont; National Spokesperson, Lerato Ngobeni; and their legal team will brief the nation on how they plan to legally compel IEC to perform their constitutional duty.
