A convicted Thabong serial rapist has been handed full life sentence for raping a minor girl six years ago, in 2016.
The Welkom Regional High Court sentenced Senki Mavimbela, for the alleged raping incident that happened in the middle of the night on March 3, 2016, where a 13-year-old girl at that time was raped by the accused.
The Regional Court heard how the 36-year-old man lobbied the minor at his home when she was on her route to her mother’s residence.
“The man then asked the little girl where she was going, and asked the girl to accompany him to his house to fetch his jersey and she agreed,” read the affidavit submitted to the court by the state.
“When they arrived at his house, the man unlocked the gate and after they got in the house, the accused then locked the the door, pushed the girl into the bedroom where the girl fell to the ground, he then grabbed her and pushed the girl to the bed.
“He took off his clothes off and the girl’s clothes, he raped her twice, while the accused was asleep, the minor grabbed the keys and managed to escape,” the court read the file.
It is then reported that, the matter was reported to Thabong Police Station, and a case of rape was registered for further investigations.
