A 20-year-old foreign national is set to make a brief appearance before the Welkom Magistrate Court today, after being found with a television set that is suspected to be stolen.
According to Lejweleputswa spokesperson, captain Stephen Thakeng, Welkom Public Order Policing(POP) task team made a follow up on the young man who was rumoured to have a television set.
“On the 20 June at about 07:00 members of POP task team identified the African man and approached him at F-hostel, in Thabong, and teenager who was a foreign boy was found with television set.
“The serial number was removed and he could not provide police officers with documentation to be in possession of the items,” said Thakeng.
The teenage suspect is facing two charges that are, illegal immigration and be in possession of stolen property.
