A pair of alleged burglars are behind bars for ransacking a Bronville home and making off with looted goods.
According to Welkom SAPS spokesperson Stephen Thakeng, African men aged 29 and 38 years old were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property on Thursday 18 November 2021.
“Police received information about a 29-year-old suspect involved in a burglary and transportation of stolen property,” said Thakeng.
“An intelligence driven was conducted and resulted in a suspect been arrested,” he added.
A 43 inch Hi Sense plasma TV, speaker, clothing, medication, 16 pairs of sneakers and VW Golf 1 valued at R90 000 were confiscated.
“For further investigation by members of Welkom Vehicle Identification Section and Safeguarding (VISS), the VIN number and engine number of the Golf was tampered with,” he said over another thieving incident.
“An intelligence operation was conducted after Police received information about a 38-year-old suspect who was in possession of stolen property.
“The suspect was arrested and the 54 inch Sansui plasma TV, Meccer lap top and Samsung cellphone all valued at R15 000 were confiscated.
The two suspects will appear in Welkom Magistrate Court on the 22 November 2021.
