Two alleged live stock thieves arrested with cows and calves

Odendaalsrus Stock Theft and Endangered Species members, led by Warrant Officer Coen de Beer and Sergeant Marta Mandla received a tip-off about stolen cows and calves from a farm.

The team approached stockades in Kgotsong. They found an unknown male hiding inside one of the stockades with a cow tied to the ground.

Upon further investigation, members found two Brangus calves and seized them.

Furthermore, three other cows and a new born calf were also found and seized.

The farm owner identified seized live stock as his.

The police arrested two suspects, aged 32 and 48.

They will appear before Bothaville Magistrate Court on Monday, 25 October 2021, facing possession of suspected stolen live stock.

Lejweleputswa District Commissioner, Major General Lerato Molale, applauded arresting officers on their quick response to information received from Bothaville residents who are fed up of live stock criminality.
