Momorwa’s tavern robbed cash at gun point, suspects on the loose

Wesselsbron: The owner and her helper were attacked and robbed by three African men at gun point. They threaten to burn their faces with hot iron, cash was robbed and armed robbers are on the loose.

On Tuesday, 19 October 2021 at about 08:30, a 48-year-old owner of the tavern opened the gate for her helper and never lock it. Then three unknown men entered and overpowered them.

According to a released statement, “They allegedly demanded cash at gun point, and she told them, there as no money. They apparently threaten the owner to burn their faces with hot irons,” statement read.

The complainant and her helper were tied up with electrical wires.

While the robbery was in progress, the son of the owner arrived who was also pointed with firearms.

He was also tied up with electrical wires.

Undisclosed amount of cash and a cellphone were robbed.

The suspects walked from the scene on foot to an unknown destinations. The three victims managed to untie themselves and report the incident to local Police Station.

A case of Armed Robbery was registered for further investigation.
