In an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19, strict social distancing protocols will be observed in the courtroom. Members of the media and the public are requested to follow security procedures to be communicated by court officials to ensure the safety of court users.

Access to the courtroom will be for accredited persons only. There will be a limited number of seats allocated for accredited media members inside the courtroom.
Members of the media are therefore requested to submit their accreditation requests to Lusanda Ntuli at LNtuli@judiciary.org.za and cc lusanda02@gmail.com by Sunday, 17 October 2021, at 12:00.
Requests received after the closing time will not be considered. Personal information will be processed in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (Act No. 4 of 2013).

Requests for accreditation must include the individual’s name, name of the organisation/media house they represent, ID/Passport number, designation, and contact details. It should be noted that not all applications will be approved.

Outcomes of accreditation applications will be communicated via email.

Accreditation cards will be available and distributed to approved applicants. This will be communicated via email once accreditation has been finalised.

Kindly make arrangements in writing should you be unable to collect accreditation during the allocated time.

POOL FEED ARRANGEMENTS INSIDE THE COURTROOM

As with the video feed, there will be a pool system for photographers. The South African National Editors Forum (SANEF) and the Foreign Correspondents Association (FCA) are kindly requested to co-ordinate and submit names of photographers who will form a pool for, and provide pictures to the media.

PROCEDURES TO BE AWARE OF:

  1. When entering the court, mandatory COVID-19 screening will be conducted. Please ensure that you have a face mask on at all times.
  2. Your accreditation card will be your access to the courtroom. Access into the courtroom will not be granted without presenting both.
