Roadblock held in Welkom to raise GBV awareness!

Members of Welkom Police Station, CPF, Vehicle Theft Investigation Unit, CPF organized a roadblock where pamphlets were distributed to make motorists aware about Gender Based Violence and Domestic Violence.

On Friday, the 27th August 2021, a road block was orchestrated where vehicles and persons were searched.

The roadblock was aimed at making awareness on Gender Based Violence and the safety of the vulnerable people like the elderly, children and people with disabilities.

Phomolong Sector Crime Forum and Welkom Social Crime Prevention were also part of this awareness campaign to distribute pamphlets of the above-mentioned issues.

The Station Commander of Welkom, Brigadier Cezula continued to engage with motorists to emphasize the message on Gender Based Violence and Women and Men must not be silent but they must Break the Silence regarding this virus called Domestic Violence and Gender Based Violence.

The operation was led by the Station Commander of Welkom, Brigadier Disebo Cezula.
