Here’s what you need to know about Nomcebo Zikode and her journey through music

Popular South African singer and song-writer Nomcebo Zikode has rose herself into fame with her best tunes in the music industry.

The singer has made her mark in the house music genre in SA, with her stellar work, together with Master KG, they have been celebrated all over the world, with the song titled ‘Jerusalema’ that became a global hit.

Through her esteemed career, Nomcebo has released great music that has kept fans on the dance floor, this can be witnessed through a brand new release of single Xola Moya Wam. The Afro House production which features Master KG debuted on radio stations during the week and but has been released commercially, where over thousands of people have downloaded the hit.

Here are five things you need to know about Nomcebo:

1.  About her personal background, she was born and raised in Hammersdale, KwaZulu Natal. She went to Ukusa High School. After completing her matric, she later moved to Johannesburg where her love for music evolved.

2. Her career can be tracked back, when she made an appearance on talent search by Ukhozi FM in 2003, where she became the winner and some of the runner ups were the likes of famous Nhlanhla Nciza of Mafikizolo, late Lundi Tyamara, Kholeka, and Zahara.

3. After taking time to release her debut song, she teamed up with DJ Ganyani and they both produced, ‘Emazulwini’. She also got to be signed as an artist under Open Mic Records and this meant the start of her solo career.

3. She has worked with the likes of DJ Ganyani, Mobi Dixon, Bongo Beats and DJ Mshega, Professor, Master KG, Master ChengFu and Eyadini Lounge.

4. Nomcebo has been receiving support from fans from other countries with people taking part in #JerusalemaDanceChallenge.

5. Nomcebo bursted into bigger limelight following her legendary collaboration with fellow Open Mic Production star Master KG on Jerusalema. She also helped DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small craft the single Msindisi.
